Learn How to Advocate for Yourself

 Have you ever been confronted with antisemitic/anti-Israel comments in your workplace, academic setting, or social interactions? In this 3-part, interactive workshop, you will learn a practical rhetorical technique to help you reply without the need to make counterpoints about Judaism, Israel, or Zionism.

Each workshop series is

· Free

· Live & interactive. (The meetings are not recorded.)

· Held remotely, or in-person by special arrangement.

· 3 parts, scheduled in sequential weeks, at mutually convenient times.

· Limited to 7 participants. If you are in a group with more than 7 members who wish to attend, we can schedule additional workshops.

~~~~~
Outline of Workshop:
· Part 1: Participants will give examples of antisemitic comments they’ve encountered. We’ll identify the verbal manipulation embedded in those remarks, which is the key to formulating a simple but effective response.
· Part 2: I’ll present my rhetorical technique, and participants will practice using it with the examples they offered in Part 1.
· Part 3: We’ll role-play to learn how this tool can apply to a variety of scenarios, with time for questions & discussion.
This workshop is offered by Dr. Julia Weinberg, a clinical and forensic psychologist who practiced law prior to her career in psychology. Based on her extensive experience in teaching individuals how to self-advocate in challenging situations, she has adapted these techniques to help the Jewish community cope with antisemitic rhetoric.
